Treatment of Leg Ulcers
Unfortunately, when varicose veins have been left untreated for considerable periods of time, the constant pressure accumulating in the distal leg and ankle areas causes skin changes and eventual breakdown of the skin to form to an ulcer.
Leg ulcers are usually accompanied by other signs and symptoms related to varicose veins. Treatment is usually directed to the primary cause and healing will often take place when treatment recommendations are adhered to.
